In 2004, MCM was founded by Monik C. Jones, a dancer, teacher, choreographer, and mentor who has a zeal for dance education.
Ms. Jones believes that the arts help children and youth further develop their ability to communicate through self-expression. Her desire to create a dance education program began as a minute vision that has since expanded to include school programs, community dance classes, private clients, and professional development training.
For more than 20 years, Ms. Jones has taught and performed nationally and internationally in Brazil, Croatia, Ghana, and other locations. She demonstrates expertise in various genres of dance, including African, hip-hop, ballet, liturgical, modern, jazz, social, and lyrical.
Ms. Jones received her bachelor’s degree in World Arts and Culture with a concentration in Dance and a minor in Education from UCLA, and her master’s degree in Dance from UCI.
Through Monik’s Creative Movement, Ms. Jones aims to teach, develop and positively impact children, youth and the next generation of dance educators.
